Friday August 20-21 was the Dixie Ward Camp-out in Eden Utah
We didn't make it there until it was almost dark, but the drive up the mountain with the Sun setting behind us was incredibly beautiful! As soon as we made it to camp we got the tent and our beds all set up and ready to go so that we could enjoy the rest of the evening around the campfire with the rest of the ward. They had a dessert cook off and I had Nathan try all of them and tell me what the best of the best was so that I didn't wast any carbohydrates on the mediocre ;) The best of the best was a dutch oven cinnamon roll by the Morgan's with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream...YUM YUM! We borrowed the coon-skin caps from Seth & Brett. Payton had his on for about five minutes before the tail tickled his neck and he reached back to see what it was. "What's THIS?!? I DON'T want IT!" and that was the end of Payton's festive hat. Gage LOVED his and wore it the entire time.
Payton, the poor little guy tried to pick up and ember that popped out of the fire and got a nice blister on his finger.
There's some kind of gravity that pulls Gage toward babies... He's is and will be such a great big-brother. He's so loving and attentive.
The joy of sleeping in a tent! It's remarkable when you're little...it's incredibly uncomfortable when you're 34 weeks pregnant! Our tent is small but cozy. We all stayed toasty warm and the kids absolutely loved every minute of it!
The kid's (and Nathan) sure enjoyed the wide open spaces...
